Goalkeeping Academy Mission
Columbia Premier SC Goalkeeping Academy’s Mission is to develop confident, technically advanced, and mentally strong goalkeepers through a structured and progressive training environment, equipping each athlete with the tools to succeed at every level of the game.
Goalkeeping Academy vision is to build a premier goalkeeper development program recognized for producing high-level, game-ready goalkeepers who excel in competitive environments and demonstrate leadership, consistency, and professionalism on and off the field.
Goalkeeping Academy Philosophy
Our Goalkeeper Program is built on the belief that every goalkeeper deserves a clear pathway for growth, from their first introduction to the position in the Junior Academy to competing at the highest levels such as ECNL and GA.
We develop goalkeepers through a structured, progressive training model that evolves with the player. Each session is designed to challenge goalkeepers technically, mentally, and physically, preparing them for the real demands of the game.
Our philosophy centers on creating complete goalkeepers who are confident, decisive, and capable of controlling their area under pressure. We emphasize attention to detail in every aspect of the position, from footwork and positioning to decision-making and distribution.
Beyond technical development, we instill discipline, resilience, and leadership. Goalkeepers are trained not only to perform, but to communicate, organize, and influence the game from the back.
Goalkeeping Registration & Schedule
Who: U9-U19 Goalkeepers seeking comprehensive, individual goalkeeping training and development. They must be registered and participating in our Academy or Junior Academy teams.
Goalkeeper academy is free to all Columbia Premier SC Black, Gray, and Junior Academy U9/U10 players. Registration not required. Coaches will send keeper information to the goalkeeper director. Player will be evaluated and placed on a team in PlayMetrics.
Training Structure:
- Junior Academy: 1–2 sessions per week
- Gray Teams: 2–3 sessions per week
- Black, ECNL & GA Teams: 3–4 sessions per week
Program Focus:
This program sharpens the essential skills every goalkeeper needs to command the box and perform at a high level:
- Proper diving and catching techniques
- Handling high balls, low shots, and crosses
- Deflections, blocking, and distribution under pressure
- One-on-one scenarios and decision-making
- Positioning, footwork, and control of the penalty area
